This Darien home flooded twice in the summer of 2021 from a tropical storm followed by Hurricane Ida. The beautiful finished basement space took on a lot of water. Upon inspection, we discovered issues with the footing drain around the foundation. It was only sending water into the house to a sump pit, it had a pipe break and there was a floor drain at the base of a massive stairwell that also poorly introduced water into the footing drain.

This home was flooded in the summer of 2021 during Hurricane Ida. The home took one surface runoff that overcame a window well and a footing drain, both of which sent the water into the finished basement. We engineered a solution involving a pump chamber and dual pumps (for redundancy), surface yard drains, offsetting roof drainage by sending it into our new system, and reworking the drain in the window well to send water to our system instead of the footing drain.

This New Canaan home experienced severe flooding from Hurricane Ida in the summer of 2021. The driveway is recessed and the drainage for the roof allowed water to flow to and build up in the driveway, breaching the garage doors. Our engineered system involved removing the driveway and creating stormwater storage below the driveway! It was the only place the water could be sent effectively. The new system utilizes CULTEC stormwater chambers, oversized precast trench drains and a precast catch basin with check valve to control the water and then send any overflow out and off the property. We also did some beautiful Belgium block borders and apron to improve on the driveway, before we finally paved the driveway with new asphalt.

This home was attacked by surface runoff during Hurricane Ida from adjacent properties. We created 4 new features to divert water, collect water and send water around and away from the detached garage and the house. Modifying or installing Greenwich drains systems require adherence to local stormwater ordinances and we take special care to keep clients compliant.

This customer sourced us for a solution because they were taking on water from all directions. They were incurring water from the neighbor’s yards, their own rain gutters were discharging close to their house and pooling aside the foundation and their pre-existing sump pump was not sending collected water far enough away from the house. This is an Old Greenwich property and many Old Greenwich and other shoreline neighborhoods in Greenwich have experienced flooding, especially in recent years. Tropical Storm Ike and Hurricane Ida just a few weeks apart in summer 2021 put many properties over their “tipping point” with flooding. We installed a sizeable CULTEC stormwater gallery in the yard to store rainwater and to send it back into the earth. We also added an overflow to take any water that overwhelms the system in an extreme event and send it out and away from the property.

This property is a block off of Lake Ave. and close to downtown Greenwich. The property was overtaken by surface runoff during Hurricane Ida in the summer of 2021. The driveway’s catch basins all feed concrete detention chambers below the driveway and completely filled the chambers faster than they could infiltrate and drain. Additionally, a basement walkout was not outfitted with proper drainage and so the area collected an incredible amount of water during the storm, overtaking the door threshold. The solutions we executed on were to (1) drain the patio area completely during any water event and (2) create a dual pump system housed inside a new pump chamber situated above the detention chambers to empty the underground detention chambers when they reach a set water depth.

This home is on Riversville Rd in the Glenville section of Greenwich. It’s an antique and has many unique features, including its drainage system around the property. We inspected and jetted all drain lines and catch basins, and even cleared out a long, snaking makeshift culvert uphill from the home on a hillside to keep everything in working order. These Greenwich drains are now in prime working order.

Client in Wilton, CT was in need of a underground stormwater system inspection and subsequent maintenance. Multiple lines were found to be problematic and needed servicing. Using 4,000psi water jet at 9 gallons per minute, we swiftly and powerfully cleared the lines restoring functionality.

The customer called us in to inspect their ground drains after they experienced water in the basement and some bubbling at their ground drains. During our inspection we quickly found a crushed pipe under their rear patio and some clogged drains elsewhere. We were back a few days later to jackhammer up the patio to repair the pipe. We rebuilt the patio to follow to return the property to original conditions with a fully operational drainage system.

This project in Stamford, CT was to remedy drains filled with leaves and debris. We inspected all the ground drains and then jetted the lines that needed cleaning.

Darien nursing home facility was experiencing surface runoff and icing at its front entrance, causing a dangerous situation. The carport was not fitted with rain gutters or ground drains. We saw cut the concrete sidewalk in multiple areas to access existing drains and then retrofitted two new drain lines to collect and send away roof runoff. We also installed new commercial sized rain gutters and connected them to the new ground drains. Finally, we poured new concrete to match the existing sidewalks. Water and icing problem solved!
