Stormwater system inspections in Greenwich Connecticut
The Town of Greenwich requires private property owners to inspect and maintain their stormwater drainage systems. Owners must keep records of inspections and services, but currently, the Town does not require submission of these records to any municipal agency or their inclusion in Land Records.
However, properties with an Inland Wetlands and Watercourses Agency (IWWA) permit may be required to submit inspection and maintenance records every five (5) years.
If the Town of Greenwich receives a valid complaint related to stormwater runoff, the Department of Public Works (DPW) – Engineering Division may request a copy of the property’s stormwater maintenance records.
To remain compliant, property owners should complete stormwater drainage inspections and services as outlined in their O&M plans and retain all records.
Owner Responsibilities Under the Maintenance Declaration
Qualified Inspections: Owners must hire a qualified inspector to operate and maintain stormwater management systems per the O&M Plan.
Record-Keeping: Owners must maintain logs, invoices, reports, and other inspection records and have them available for review at all times.
Inspection Frequency:
Recommended twice per year (before winter and during spring cleanup).
Must be performed every five (5) years.
Additional inspections may be required based on runoff, debris clogging, and pollutant loads.

Regular maintenance inspections of your underground pipes, yard drains, catch basins, trench drains and stormwater chambers can save you costly repairs in the future.
Required stormwater drainage system maintenance
Not sure of what kind of stormwater system maintenance will be expected of you?
Here are some abridged requirements Connecticut Stormwater Authority universally sees with most municipalities:

If present, maintenance should include the servicing of the following:
